Postdoctoral Scientist

I spent 7 years working in pharma using zebrafish as a disease model and tool for drug discovery before joining Oxford. I am currently a DPhil student in Prof Frater’s group investigating the latent reservoir in HIV-1. The core aims of my work are to:

  • Identify novel markers that can be used to identify latently infected cells
  • Develop a novel method to quantify the reservoir that allows viral replication competence to be determined in parallel
  • Investigate whether sites of proviral integration are linked to viral rebound in the context of treatment interruption

In order to address these questions I am developing a number of novel methodologies including a water-in-oil emulsion, single-cell microfluidics platform and in-solution DNA target enrichment.
