Reena D'Souza

Postdoctoral Scientist

Reena is a visiting Newton International fellow.  She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from Manipal University, India.  It was during her postdoctoral work at St. John’s Research Institute, Bangalore that her interest turned to HIV infection, particularly the Paediatric Long Term Non-Progressors (LTNPs). Her current research focuses on studying the virologic, genetic and immune mechanisms in Non-Progressing Paediatric HIV infection. She is grateful to the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Newton Fund that gave her the opportunity to be at University of Oxford among the experts in HIV immunology.
