I am an infectious diseases registrar currently undertaking a Dphil in the Matthews group supported by a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Training Fellowship.
I have been working with the Matthews group alongside my clinical training since 2015, developing my interest in viral genomics and the application of novel sequencing platforms to clinical practice. I am currently investigating a range of diagnostic platforms, including lateral flow devices, LAMP, and sequencing, for diagnosis of respiratory viruses including SARS-CoV-2.
I am working closely with colleagues at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a large scale staff SARS-CoV-2 testing programme (over 12,500 staff tested to date), to provide enhanced infection prevention control and answer critical questions about post-infection immunity.
I continue to contribute to clinical work, and co-ordinate and deliver medical student teaching as a Teaching Fellow at Green Templeton College and as a lecturer for medical school infection teaching programs.
