Patpong Rongkard

Patpong Rongkard is currently a postgraduate scientist in immunology with a background in microbiology. Patpong has been working at Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit since 2012. In 2015, he was awarded the Wellcome Trust masters fellowship to undertake a MSc in Immunology of infectious diseases at LSHTM and conducted his research under supervision of Prof. Susanna Dunachie. His previous work was to study human immune cross-reactivity among Burkholderia pseudomallei and its low pathogenic Burkholderia thailandensis variants under supervision. His current project will deploy multi "omics" approaches to understand susceptibility of diabetes in intracellular infections, in particular melioidosis.
